No self-respecting dental clinic will begin even planning treatment (let alone treatment itself) without proper diagnostics.
Currently, the leading diagnostic method in dentistry is radiological examination of the dentoalveolar system.
At Vivadent Dental Clinic, X-ray diagnostics are performed using only state-of-the-art equipment from Planmeca. This ensures higher quality images and, most importantly, reduces radiation exposure during the examination.
Why is this possible? Because instead of traditional X-ray film, a digital sensor is used — it is significantly more sensitive than even the most modern film, which means much less radiation time (exposure) is needed to capture an image of a tooth or jaw. Additionally, the image appears instantly on the computer screen — no more waiting for your X-ray to be developed.
Another important aspect: the image is always stored in the digital database and recorded in your personal electronic chart. Unlike traditional X-rays on film, which can be forgotten, lost, or damaged, your digital records are safe and permanent.
So-called “targeted” images are mandatory during the diagnosis and treatment of dental diseases. The proper name for this method is intraoral dental radiography. These images help assess the condition of bone tissue near the root apex and monitor the position of endodontic instruments in the root canals during treatment, as well as evaluate the quality of root canal fillings. Additionally, intraoral X-rays taken using the interproximal method reveal the state of the crown part of the tooth: presence of carious lesions on contact surfaces and cervical areas, and under restorations (fillings or metal-ceramic crowns), presence of calculus (“tartar”), and quality of restoration fit.
Considering the complexity of diagnostics, the diversity of dentoalveolar pathologies, hidden and atypical forms of disease, the precision required during dental procedures, and the critical need for quality control, the use of the most advanced and highly informative diagnostic equipment is clearly essential.
