There are several main methods of dental implantation:

  •   - the classical (traditional) dental implantation method
  •   - the one-stage transgingival dental implantation method
  •   - the method of dental implantation without bone grafting

Classical dental implantation method

Classical dental implantation has been widely used in dental practice since the 1980s. However, patients indicated for this technique should be prepared for a rather long course of treatment, which may last over one year.

The following rules must be observed during classical dental implantation:

    1. Between 1.5 and 3 months should pass after tooth extraction (or loss);
    2. Bone grafting is mandatory in cases where there is insufficient bone for implant placement;
    3. Implant placement is carried out at least 5 months after bone grafting;
    4. The crown can be placed on the implant no earlier than 4 months for the lower jaw and 6 months for the upper jaw after implant installation.

Despite the long treatment period, classical implantation has undeniable advantages compared to other methods:

    - it is the most tested and proven method in dental implantology today;
    - when prosthetics are placed on implants installed using the classical protocol, there is a wide range of orthopedic solutions (both single crowns and bridge prostheses can be used thanks to a variety of abutments).

Dental implantation method without bone grafting

This is the most modern concept in dental implantation, used in Europe for more than 10 years, known as “4D Implantology.” This method allows implants to be placed without bone grafting even when the bone level is only 4 mm! Thanks to its reliability, versatility, and unique effectiveness, even patients with complete edentulism can smile and chew solid food within a week after surgery. The secret lies in the design of the implants themselves, which are fundamentally different from traditional ones.

Main advantages of the “4D Implantology” method:

    - the treatment can be performed on all patients without exception, regardless of the degree of bone thinning or the presence/absence of remaining teeth;
    - surgical treatment is required only once, implants are placed and splinted immediately after tooth extraction;
    - fewer surgical interventions and procedures reduce the overall cost of treatment;
    - the effectiveness of basal implants is rarely dependent on jaw bone blood supply compared to traditional implants;
    - a temporary metal-plastic prosthesis is installed on the 3rd day after surgery.

One-stage transgingival dental implantation method

One-stage dental implantation involves placing the implant using the transgingival method (without cutting the gum) with a crown installed within one week. This method has been widely used in European countries for over 15 years and may be referred to as:

    - non-surgical dental implantation
    - one-stage dental implantation
    - immediate-load implantation
    - bloodless dental implantation
    - suture-free dental implantation
    - express dental implantation
    - minimally invasive dental implantation
    - transgingival dental implantation
    - and even “endoscopic dental implantation”

The size of the implants and the system is selected strictly individually and based on medical indications. It is also important to consider that there must be sufficient bone tissue for implant placement.
